Riemaandrijving

Een riemaandrijving is een aandrijving waarbij gebruik gemaakt wordt van een kunststof riem in plaats van een ‘traditionele’ ketting. Doordat een aandrijfriem geen zijdelingse speling heeft is deze niet te gebruiken in combinatie met een derailleurversnelling. Daarom maken fietsen met een riemaandrijving altijd gebruik van een versnelling in de achternaaf of in de trapas. Voordelen:

  • Extreem onderhoudsvriendelijk
  • Bij schakelen van versnellingen is de riem stiller en geeft minder weerstand
  • Geen roest
  • Geen olie nodig
  • Duurzaam: een riem gaat tussen de 25.000 en 50.000 kilometer mee
  • Efficiënt: door gebruik van een carbonkern zit er geen rek in een riem, daardoor is de druk heel constant
  • Stil: je kunt alles horen wat er om je heen gebeurt, zoals natuurgeluiden
  • Gewicht: een riem weegt ongeveer 75% minder dan een ketting
